POPPHIL thumbnail
POPPHIL I just couldn't wait to get hold of this supergroup's first work on vinyl and/or Digipak CD and discover the twelve songs penned by Ángel Kaplan.
Indeed, I had to be content with the six tracks that were given away with the pre-order and are exceptional but upon hearing the whole album, for which I opted for the CD format, I must admit it came up to my high expectations.
One more reason to pay for the music of these Spanish artists.

The highly expected first lp of this supergroup (members of The Cynics, Dr Explosion, Paul Collins Beat,…) is here! After their greatly acclaimed (and sold-out) ep, they are here again showing that where there is talent and passion for music, you can just get one thing, a record that is a gem, which reveal their love for the best American rock, good guitars, melodies that get hooked in your brain, and finest voices.

Like Diego RJ (El Sotano, Spanish National Radio) said: “Gram Parsons would be proud of them”, but also Neil Young, Richard Thompson, Alex Chilton, Gene Clark, Clarence White, and more of the greatest classic American musicians, and not so classic such as Redd Kross’ McDonald bros or The Sadies’ Good brothers.
